Feministic:gender discussions always troubled, and trouble, me.
Because they are filled with humongous truths.
First, of the relentless subjection and utilisation of one half of the humanity by the other half over endless times.
Second, for the burden that evolutionary biology has placed on them - as the core piece of/for sustenance of the human species - making them so beautiful, alluring and alone to bear children - using different biochemicals than those secreted by men - which has had enormous consequences physically, emotionally, socially, professionally and in every other way.
Third, and as a corollary to other points, of their objectification for male pleasure, likewise, forever.
Fourth, for the denying them of education over millennia - a deadly device for holding human beings dependent and captive for one’s conveniences - something the rich and powerful few have always known and practiced, to always keep the poor many poor and dependent and available aplenty.
Five, for childbearing being such a pain and mess and shame for them alone to suffer, generating in its wake terrible loads of trauma for them, and guilt/haplessness for good men.
Six, the emerging ‘person’ from education runs often at odds with her body and its functions and demands, unless the body is obligingly barren or androgynous, often leading to a state of apparent denial/contradiction/conflict - leading to a persona and postures that are intrinsically untenable between the body, mind and person, which in turn put enormous pressures on her..
And, like every original sin, these above truths set in motion what we, women *and* men, have come to bear, and suffer from, as the ‘modern’ life.
Nature, Evolution operates on *interdependency* and thus *complementarity* as first principles, subordinated to *utility* as the core force and engineering design logic.
The attempts to right these earlier mentioned grievous wrongs lead to an upsetting of this primal design Principle, leading to another, different, set of pains - moving up the maslowean hierarchy/plane, from the hygiene factors to the motivational ones as their coinage, denominations.
The women and men wanting to be ‘independent’, run into incompleteness, emptiness, pointlessness, automaton, friction, grievances, dissolution, separation, and thus into larger emptiness - and thus onto an endless running on the ‘belt’ that life horribly becomes - clutching at the ever passing things in desperation for that ‘happiness’, only to find them a frustrating string of chimera, leading to that incredibly lonesome path of WGTOW and MGTOW - both being the same in essence.
The phase difference in these enquiries - feminism (1848 - ) about 175 years old, and the masculinism virtually a new-born brought about by the emerging first ever urban realities from the women’s (economic and social) independence and the consequent separations, isolations and misery for both - is the new gap that the present and future young generations uniquely have to contend, and deal with.., things alien to the present parent.gens., reduced to helpless witnesses.
What is so sobering and daunting is the apparent insolvability of this conundrum without permitting the vocabulary of ‘compromise’, ‘adjustment’, ‘trade-offs’ ‘reciprocations’ ‘live-as-a-giver-not-as-a-seeker’ and so on..
As a learned and wise academic colleague of mine so perspicaciously pointed out to me after reading an earlier draft of this piece that I shared with her for her valuable views, and I quote her here, “…There are significant strands of feminism which have emphasised that it is a movement for equality and not superiority. So compromises/trade-off are part of that interdependence. Just that both the sides need to play their part in this which does not happen in a typically patriarchal societies…”
But the sheer difference in the numbers of the world population that are sensitised to the above crucial need versus those not, is so huge and so complex still, mired as it is in the mind-boggling range of demographic, psychographic and sociographic factors, that task at hand would seem most disheartening and discouraging.. !
However, all is not lost. As a Total Quality Management professional and practitioner, I have this useful metaphor and the solution/approach thought to offer – just like a drop of detergent liquid onto a dirty water surface will be seen to spread by its own potency in an expanding circle of clean(ed) water, start with yourself; in your home, and in your network, your zone of influence, and be at it. Hopefully every person you touch would become another ‘detergent drop’ and it would spread/expand non-linearly. In any event, you and your reality would have transitioned for the better in this regard..!
Why is it a conundrum in the first place, so intractable for literally centuries together, so intractable?
Because it is NOT a PROBLEM with a neat right-versus-wrong solution to be discovered and apply, but a POLARITY & DUALITY, which have NO perfect solutions, because it is per se a “Defining Moment*”, a RIGHT-versus-RIGHT Ethical Dilemma that can only have a series of trade-off-based Optimisations...
IOW, a Structural Flaw.
by the way, the matrix red pill seems to have been hijacked and has become suspect..?! poor thing!
[ alas! anything that the human specie touches is corrupted :( ]
it looks like both sides need to take the *original* matrix red pill regularly - like a health supplement - for this urgent dialogue to be ongoing.
(whoa ! isn’t that a massive business opportunity awaiting humanity..?!!)
